Are you wondering about the progress at your school under the 2012 bond program? There’s no easier way to keep up to date than checking out HISD’s website dedicated to providing complete coverage of the program to build or renovate 40 schools at houstonisd.org/bond.
One feature of the website is a calendar listing all the meeting times of the Project Advisory Teams. These groups of students, staff, and community members hold monthly meetings at each bond campus to guide the design and the construction of the schools. These meetings are open to the public and are a great way to stay informed.
For a complete listing of upcoming meetings, an exportable calendar is available on the bond website.
If you want to stay in the loop but don’t have time to attend the PAT meetings, you can always review the minutes of earlier meetings. Notes are taken at each gathering and then posted on the website when approved. The full collection of meeting minutes can be found here.
The overall goal of the bond communications team is ensure that the district fulfills its pledge of having a quality bond program that is transparent, accountable and responsive to all audiences.
Another strategy for staying informed includes subscribing to the district’s monthly eNewsletter, which aggregates the district’s top bond stories to give readers an easy place to find all the latest bond news.
To receive immediate updates on the bond program via email, you may subscribe to the bond news blog’s RSS feed.
Finally, if you have a specific question, email bondinfo@houstonisd.org. That address is checked frequently throughout the day to ensure all queries are handled in a timely and responsive manner.
