HISD College Fairs Help Students Make Big Decisions

Whether to stay in state or go out of state for college is a big decision for HISD seniors, and an upcoming college fair may help students and their parents make that important choice. College fairs are a great way to collect information about potential schools – students can meet face to face with college representatives, ask pertinent questions, and even get insider tips on how to get admitted to the school of their choice.

Students and their families will have an opportunity to explore their choices at HISD’s Texas College Night from 5:30 to 8 p.m. on Wed., Nov. 6, at Reagan High School (413 E. 13th St., 77008). Texas State Senator Rodney Ellis will be the keynote speaker at the event, which spotlights some of the state’s flagship universities, including Texas A&M and the University of Texas. Representatives will be on hand that night to share information on admission requirements, automatic admission policies, and scholarship opportunities. Guests can visit Texas college booths from 5:30 to 6 p.m., and attend a presentation by university representatives from 6 to 8 p.m.
