Classes at all HISD campuses resumed Tues., Jan. 7. Teachers, principals and support staff returned to work on Monday to prepare for the students’ return.

Temperatures were predicted to be below freezing for the commute to school on Tuesday, and the forecasted high for the day is in the mid to high 40s. Parents were encouraged to make sure their children are properly dressed to keep warm.

HISD will not cancel classes because of cold temperatures. Staff members will monitor each school to make sure the heaters are working properly and pipes remain intact. Parents will be contacted if schedule changes or closures are required at an individual campus because of a mechanical problem.
