Teenage girls at Jordan High School had the opportunity Friday to meet with about 40 female professionals to learn about careers in the property development field that they may choose to pursue.
The program was presented by CREW Foundation, a nonprofit that introduces teenage girls to career opportunities in the real estate field. The students met with architects, developers, contractors, lawyers, brokers, real estate advisors, engineers, marketers, and investors.
Students were given an overview of how a project goes from a dream to design. The girls were put into groups and then developed a project they thought would like to see at Camden’s McGowan Station in Midtown. The students were told about the many things a developer must consider, including regulatory requirements, financing, demographics, design and construction, and leasing.
