Newly designed website and catalog to help with school choice process

HISD magnet applications are now being accepted for the 2015-2016 school year, but selecting a school among so many choices may sometimes seem overwhelming.  In an effort to help parents and students navigate the process and make an informed choice, HISD has redesigned its school choice website and has created a helpful catalog.

(Houston Independent School District)The newly designed school choice website  lists programs available by grade level (elementary, middle, and high) as well as by type (Fine Arts, STEM, Vanguard, etc.). The site also provides links directly to individual school websites so parents can get more information about each campus and a calendar with important dates, including school choice fairs.

The HISD School Choice Catalog is a visual guide that walks parents and students through the multitude of school choice options available in HISD. The color catalog features testimonials from parents and students, as well as a comprehensive listing of programs, maps, important dates to remember, and important things to consider when selecting a program for your child.  It is available in Spanish by clicking here.
