Parent and community members are invited for presentations, workshops, and resources to help students succeed
This spring, the HISD Family Learning Academy will be offering five free events to connect families to resources to help students succeed in school, get into college, and find a rewarding career. Family Learning Academy partners with HISD Departments and community organizations to tailor every event to community needs.
Through panels, workshops and resource fairs, parents are introduced to strategies and resources for helping their students learn at home, becoming more involved in their child’s schooling, and preparing their child for college and career. This semester, the Family Learning Academy is partnering with Sterling Aviation High School, Anderson Elementary School, Stevenson Middle School, and Piney Point Elementary School, along with Board Trustees Wanda Adams and Rhonda Skillern-Jones, to coordinate these events for their local communities.
