Online platform going districtwide for 2015–2016 school year
HISD’s online teaching and learning platform, known as the HUB , is moving from its pilot phase at a group of schools to full districtwide implementation during the 2015–2016 school year. To assist with the transition, K–12 teachers have been or will be attending a variety of training sessions this summer to learn how to use the online platform for classroom instruction and for collaboration with their colleagues.
Hundreds of elementary teachers recently attended a four-day HUB Summer Camp , and middle and high school teachers are currently training on the HUB at the district’s Secondary Transformational Institute. Secondary teachers who still need to sign up for the July sessions can click here.
So, what are teachers saying about the HUB? Elementary school teachers and teacher development specialists who attended HUB Summer Camp shared their thoughts with the HISD Multimedia team in the video below. This video was also shown to HISD principals at a recent training session to help them understand how the HUB can be used to digitally transform their campuses.
