Bettina McKinney has been selected as the new principal of Highland Heights Elementary School. McKinney began her career at Dogan Elementary School as a fifth-grade science teacher.

She served in similar roles at Patterson Elementary School, Whidby Elementary School and at Key Middle School. She served as new teacher coach, teacher specialist and assistant principal at Dogan Elementary School. McKinney holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Lamar University and a Master of Educational Administration from University of St. Thomas.
