The fall semester is well underway in HISD, and it is the district’s commitment to ensure students make it to and from school safely each day. In recognition of National School Bus Safety Week from Oct. 18-22, HISD recognizes the importance of school bus safety and thanks all bus drivers who dedicate themselves to the safe transport of our students. The national program “Be Safe – Know the Danger Zone” is designed to promote safety and serve as a reminder that we can all do our part to ensure students are safe in and around a school bus.
“Our drivers play an extremely important role in HISD, and that is getting our students to and from school safely,” said Superintendent Millard House. “They are the first person our students see each morning and the last when they make it home safe. They are our frontline ambassadors of protection and service.”
