The Houston Independent School District Foundation’s annual State of the Schools is set for Friday, March 3, from 12 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. at the Hilton Americas-Houston Hotel.
Each year, the event highlights the importance of community investment in public education and focuses on the social and economic impact that occurs locally and globally when public school students have access to a quality education.
This year’s luncheon will celebrate and honor distinguished alumni, showcase student talent, and feature an address from Superintendent Millard House II. One year after the unveiling of his five-year strategic plan, House will provide a progress update on the plan’s six core commitments.
Proceeds from the event will go directly to the Houston ISD Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to making education inclusive and fair for the community. Funds raised support projects and programs that fall outside the district’s operating budget in the areas of college and career readiness, comprehensive supports for students and their families, innovation, and equity.
