HISD’s Athletic Director Marmion Dambrino has been selected as the region’s 2012 Athletic Director of the Year by the Texas High School Athletic Directors Association.
“To be selected from a group of peers who are truly talented, exemplary and committed to their school districts, student athletes, and coaches is truly an honor,” said HISD Athletic Director Marmion Dambrino. “I am humbled to have the opportunity to represent our region in the upcoming THSADA convention.”
Dambrino was selected by the THSADA membership which represents 56 school districts. She will be attending the THSADA convention in San Angelo in March to represent Region V.
“Marmion Dambrino is a very well-respected athletic administrator among her colleagues,” said THSADA Executive Director Rusty Dowling. “Dambrino combines effective leadership with a strong vision of success. This recognition is highly deserved”.
Dambrino was promoted to athletic director in 2010 and has worked with HISD for 27 years serving as dean of students, associate principal, assistant principal and teacher at the middle and high school levels. She has also coached basketball, volleyball, track and boys and girls swimming. Dambrino received a bachelor’s degree from The University of Southern Mississippi and a Masters of Education from Prairie View A&M University
