Every year, HISD elementary and middle school students participate in the Dental Health Poster Contest, which promotes the American Dental Association’s National Children’s Dental Health Month campaign. The purpose is to convince children and adults of the importance of good oral health.

Recently, six HISD first-, second-, and third-place winners were recognized for their entries at a reception hosted by the Greater Houston Dental Society and the Greater Houston Dental Alliance. This year’s theme was “Defeat Monster Mouth!” Each student received an award, an oral-care bag, and a gift certificate from a local merchant.

More than 100 HISD students from 14 elementary and three middle schools entered the contest. Every student who entered received a ribbon for participating.
