Service Excellence Employees of the Month recognized for September

Three HISD employees were recognized on Wednesday morning as September’s Employee of the month for Service Excellence after going above and beyond in their roles as district employees.

HISD’s Business Operations department hosts the event each month during a continental breakfast with Chief Operating Officer Leo Bobadilla. Employees from the areas of Transportation, Police, Nutrition Services, Construction and Facilities Services, and Business Assistance who are nominated by team members for displaying exceptional customer service throughout the district.

“Your hard work and dedication to HISD does not go unnoticed, and this breakfast is a small token for everything that you do to make our district great,” Bobadilla said.

Nominate HISD’s next Service Excellence Employee of the Month

The following employees were selected for performing in a safe, courteous, responsive, and efficient manner:

Curtis Harris, Field Safety Investigator, HISD Transportation

In addition to investigating accidents, he also provides training for drivers,” said HISD Transportation General Manager Nathan Graf. “His style of training is very animated and engaging—the drivers simply love him! Curtis always has a smile on his face and is willing to help out wherever he is needed.”

Monica Cruz, Team Leader, HISD Nutrition Services

Monica is a dynamic part of the team here at Hattie Mae, and before I arrived she was in charge of the day to day functions and staff schedules,” said HISD Nutrition Services Manager Tim Marsh. “Since I have been here, she has taken on more responsibility and helped me effect changes and improve cleanliness in the Market Place. Monica is a valued member of the team and I am glad to have her as a team lead.”

Officer Quentin Wilson of HISD PD 3rd Shift Patrol Division was recognized for locating and apprehending a suspect after a robbery at a local convenient store.

“[His] hard work and commitment has not gone unnoticed,” said HISD PD Chief of Police Robert Mock. “The courage and dedication that [he] demonstrated exemplifies the values that lead to the success of the Houston ISD Police Department.
