Service Excellence team hosts first quarterly WOW! card drawing

Have you recently recognized an employee, coworker or team member at HISD go above and beyond in providing exceptional customer service? Nominate him or her for the Service Excellence Employee of the Month!

Anyone can nominate an employee under Business Operations—meaning a principal, co-worker, secretary, general manager, community member, or a parent. The honorees will be recognized during a breakfast with Chief Operating Officer Leo Bobadilla.

Officers, personnel honored at annual HISD Police Department Awards Luncheon

About 150 officers, personnel and family members of the Houston Independent School District Police Department gathered at Peck Elementary School on Friday to honor outstanding employees during their 18th Annual Awards Luncheon. The ceremony celebrates the achievements, outstanding customer service and contributions of the department during the academic school year.

HISD employees can receive Wow! cards for displays of excellent customer service.

HISD’s Business Operations department remains committed to spreading the culture of exceptional customer service across the district—so much that its employees are now being rewarded for going above and beyond.

As a part of the Service Excellence initiative, the department is now handing out WOW! cards to district employees who spread the message to promote a safe and caring learning environment. Through the initiative, the district is improving the customer service experience for students, parents, staff and community members.

Employees honored for promoting a culture of Service Excellence in HISD

In a special luncheon Tuesday, nine employees from across different Business Operations departments were honored for their work in promoting a culture of Service Excellence within HISD.

The event follows a year of trainings held by the nine employees to introduce the mission and standards of Service Excellence to their fellow employees. In all, more than 5,270 people have been trained in Service Excellence since the initiative launched in April.
