Next spring, HISD will be participating in the Texas Education Agency’s Teacher Incentive Allotment, a program that aims to help districts boost student success while also recruiting and retaining high-quality educators.
HISD is eager to be a part of this program because it will help increase salaries for the district’s highest performing teachers — at little-to-no cost to the district — while also ensuring students have equitable access to the most effective teachers.
Before launching the program in spring of 2022, the district first must develop a local designation system to help identify high-performing educators. As the district begins that work, it is seeking stakeholder feedback to ensure an equitable system is created that aligns with community values.
Please take a few minutes to complete our Teacher Incentive Allotment Stakeholder Engagement Survey. Responses will be submitted anonymously, and all information collected is confidential.
With this input, HISD can develop a system that will serve as a strong foundation for the program, bringing in state funds to invest in educators, improve instructional practices, and boost student achievement.
