Eden Bass has been selected as the new principal of Ella Baker Montessori.

Bass began her career in HISD as a sixth-grade math teacher at Henry Middle School before joining the founding teaching team at the Arabic Immersion Magnet School. At AIMS, Bass served as an Arabic language enrichment teacher and later in several leadership roles including magnet coordinator, teacher specialist, and assistant principal. Bass was principal of Love Elementary School where she and her team were able to lead the community through the pandemic while increasing enrollment, raising student achievement, and expanding student extracurricular opportunities.

Bass earned a bachelor’s degree in Middle Eastern Studies from Wellesley College and a master’s degree in Public School Leadership from Teachers College of Columbia University.
