HISD hosting Campus Hiring Event Saturday, Aug. 19

The HISD Teacher Recruitment and Selection Team will host a Campus Hiring Event on Saturday, Aug. 19, 2023, from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m., concurrently at Hattie Mae White Educational Support Center (4400 West 18th Street, 77092) and virtually via Microsoft Bookings.

On hand will be leaders from HISD schools looking to hire campus positions (teacher, assistant principal/dean of instruction, counselor, librarian, nurse, teacher assistant, associate [substitute] teacher, teacher apprentices, campus clerk, administrative assistant) for the 2023-2024 school year.

Once registered, candidates will receive final details in a separate e-mail for the event by 5 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 18.

Disclaimer: If you have already accepted an offer of employment with HISD, in the best interest of our students, schools, and communities, that commitment must be honored for the 2023-2024 school year. Upon arrival, candidates who have already accepted an offer of employment for the 2023-2024 school year will not be admitted entry to the fair.

Internal HISD employees: HISD must fully staff all campuses to ensure a strong start to the 2023-2024 school year for its students. In order to make this happen, HISD must finalize staffing at its campuses. To this end, effective Aug. 1, 2023, all internal campus-based staff are no longer eligible for internal transfer and will not be admitted entry to Saturday’s fair. However, central office personnel may transfer to a campus at any time. HISD plans to re-open campus-based promotions beginning Sept. 5, 2023.

1. If you have not submitted an online application, please do so and complete the SSN number second step prior to arriving (received via e-mail after submission). Failure to do so before arriving will delay or prohibit a school from extending you an offer.

2. In the event a campus is ready to extend you an offer letter, please:
a. Bring a copy of your resume to submit to Human Resources staff.
b. Bring a copy of your service record, if readily available, to submit to Human Resources staff.
