Harris Health Lyndon B. Johnson Hospital celebrated National Hospital Week (May 12-18) with the unveiling of their inaugural Community Visual Art Exhibition Gallery collection. Entitled “LBJ Exposed,” the artwork is a collection of photographs taken by HISD student artists that depict the zeitgeist of the community surrounding LBJ and the city of Houston.

HISD’s Fine Arts Department has combined dance with photography to create a first-of-its-kind exhibition showcasing the artistic relationship between the two disciplines.
Power of Collaboration: Through the Artists’ Lens is on display in the Hattie Mae White Educational Support Center lobby through Dec. 2. An opening reception is being held Thursday, Nov. 17, from 6-8 p.m. Artist recognitions will begin at 6:45 p.m.

Celebrating cultural diversity and heritage throughout the city of Houston is the theme for the Love Elementary School art exhibit “In the Eyes of Our Children: Houston: An American City.” which debuted Tuesday, March 26.
The exhibit, which is open to the public, features over 60 photographs by 20 Love Elementary students as part of the Pozos Art Project. Founded in spring of 2011 by Rice University Professor and photographer Geoff Winningham, the Pozos Art Project provides local students the opportunity to collectively photograph the city of Houston, cultural heritage and everyday life.
