HSPVA grad to appear on NPR’s ‘From the Top’ starting Jan. 26

JasperSnow_300A 2014 graduate of HISD’s own High School for the Performing and Visual Arts will be performing on National Public Radio’s “From the Top” program starting on Jan. 26.

Jasper Snow, an 18-year-old violist now attending the Juilliard School, will appear in episode 299 of the hit NPR show, which was taped on Dec. 13 at the Alexander Kasser Theater of Montclair University in New Jersey. He will perform the second movement, Allegro Appassionato, from “Two Pieces for Viola and Piano” by Frank Bridge.

The episode will begin airing nationally the week of Jan. 26, and on Houston Public Media, Sunday, Feb. 1, at 6 p.m.

Snow also attended River Oaks Elementary School and Lanier Middle School.

    It is worth mentioning that Jasper began his studies with Teresa Hakel, who is now on faculty at Parker Elementary in their Suzuki strings department.
