Jessica Berry has been selected as the new principal of Gary L. Herod Elementary School.

Berry began her career in education as an elementary teacher in Cy-Fair ISD. In 2014, she joined Team HISD as a campus administrator at Harvard Elementary School. She served the Harvard community as the magnet coordinator before transitioning to assistant principal in 2018. While at Harvard, she worked to increase the rigor of the campus curriculum through the PLC process and teacher coaching.

Berry earned her bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary studies from the University of Texas at San Antonio, her master’s degree in educational leadership from the University of St. Thomas, and is completing her doctoral degree in ethical leadership from the University of St. Thomas.
