HISD is offering free drive-thru PCR COVID-19 testing on August 19, 20, and 27 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Testing will be available for HISD staff, students, and members of their households. The program is offered in partnership with the Houston Health Department and Fulgent Genetics.
“This adds another layer of protection to our COVID-19 mitigation strategies,” said HISD Superintendent Millard House. “As we begin the new school year, HISD remains committed to keeping our students and staff safe so we can continue offering safe and sustainable in-person instruction.”
There will be a limited number of tests available, so follow this link to register online and confirm your spot. Be sure to make your appointment by 5 p.m. the day before your test. No tests will be collected without an appointment.

PCR testing is performed with a shallow nasal swab, and results are available 24-48 hours after samples arrive at the laboratory. PCR tests are not Rapid Tests and results are not immediate.
