HISD’s new mobile enrollment unit hits Houston streets

Houston Independent School District is rolling out a new way to enroll with the district.

Superintendent Millard House II joined district leaders for the ribbon cutting and unveiling of the HISD Mobile Enrollment Unit, also known as the E-Unit.

The goal is to make enrollment in HISD more easily accessible for Houston-area families by meeting them in their neighborhoods, at local businesses, and at events.

Inside, the unit is equipped with high-tech enrollment stations. Helpful staff will be on hand to assist with the enrollment process, every step of the way.

Outside, the unit is wrapped with artwork by Heights High School student Akira Burge. Her design was chosen out of submissions from more than 100 students.

HISD families have the choice to enroll at their zoned school or to apply to select schools and programs districtwide.
