HISD offering free meals for all students over the summer

HISD is offering free meals at nearly 200 schools Mondays through Thursdays, June 6 to June 30. The Summer Meals Program includes breakfast and lunch for children ages one to 18.

Children do not need to be enrolled in summer school to participate in the program, and no paperwork, registration, or proof of income is required. Adults may purchase breakfast for $2.75 and lunch for $5.00.

Serving times vary by campus. Some campuses will also be extending the program until later in July. Parents are encouraged to call the school or Nutrition Services to confirm.

All HISD meals are nutritionally balanced to ensure children receive the vitamins and nutrients needed to maintain a healthy diet.
