Raising teacher salaries in HISD is a top commitment within the district’s new, five-year strategic plan. In February, HISD announced a compensation plan with cost-of-living updates and step increases for the next three years. HISD is raising teacher salaries by 17% between now and 2024.

The average HISD teacher will get a 6.75% raise this summer. Teachers can view their three-year base salary trajectory on a desktop or laptop at http://bit.ly/salaryHISD.

Teachers will need to complete an Intent to Return form by Friday, May 6, 2022.

Anyone who is currently in a Teacher or Teacher Specialist job title will earn an extra $5,000 Commit: HISD incentive if they commit to stay with HISD through the 2024-2025 school year.

• $6,000 – $10,000 for teachers in any content area serving in one of the 24 RISE schools
