The inaugural Cactus Jack HBCU Classic is set for Feb. 17-19 at Minute Maid Park, and HISD high school students are invited to attend the event for free on Saturday following a college fair.

The nine-game tournament will feature Prairie View A&M, Texas Southern University, Southern University, Grambling State, Jackson State, and Mississippi Valley State University.

The Youth Academy College Fair hosted by HISD community partner the Astros Foundation is Saturday, Feb. 18, from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. at Minute Maid Park. The fair is free for students in grades 9-12 and their parents and will feature more than 100 colleges, universities, and military recruiters. Participating student will receive a free ticket to Saturday’s baseball games. Registration is required.

Saturday’s Cactus Jack HBCU Classic Game Schedule:

• 11 a.m. – Mississippi Valley St. University vs. Jackson St. University
• 3 p.m. – Southern University vs. Grambling St. University
• 7 p.m. – Prairie View A&M University vs. Texas Southern University

General admission tickets are available for each day of the tournament for $10 each.
