Anderson ES names Erica Cantu Tran as new principal

Erica Cantu Tran has been selected as the new principal at Anderson Elementary School.

She began her education career 19 years ago serving as a 4th grade ESL teacher at Mitchell Elementary School. In 2021, Tran was named principal of Patrick Henry Middle School where she strengthened TIER 1 instruction that led to double-digit gains and established a partnership with Baylor College of Medicine to begin a health and medical magnet at Henry Middle School. Previously, Tran served as the principal of Bonham Elementary School where she restructured the school and built a community of trust and academic excellence. Tran previously served in Goose Creek CISD as principal of Horace Mann Junior School where she led the campus in continuously meeting state standards, earning distinctions in science and reading.

Tran earned a bachelor’s degree in Behavioral Science from the University of Houston-Clear Lake and Master’s in Education from Lamar University.
