Contractors network on construction project for Waltrip HS
Satterfield & Pontikes Construction met with about 30 subcontractors interested in bidding for construction work for the Waltrip High School building renovation during a networking event Tuesday.
“We want to get to know more about your company and how your company can fit into this project,” said William Chambers, a senior project manager with Satterfield & Pontikes.

New Instructional Spaces Will Benefit Students at SECHS and Waltrip
Parents and community members at South Early College High School and Waltrip High School got the opportunity to weigh in Thursday on designs ideas for the two schools, which are set for construction under the 2012 bond program.
Site work is already underway for the new South Early College High School, which is being built on the campus of Houston Community College – South, at 1990 Airport Blvd. Waltrip High, located in Oak Forest off 34th Street, is scheduled to be partially replaced and renovated.
2007 and 2012 Bond Programs Progressing Within Budget and on Schedule
The HISD Board of Education held a workshop on Sept. 19 to receive progress updates on the district’s capital building programs, which are progressing within budget and on schedule.
As the Houston Independent School District moves forward with planning for the 2012 bond program to renovate, build or replace 40 schools, work is underway to finish all the projects in the 2007 bond program by the end of 2014.
