Make a bigger difference; HISD now hiring all positions for the 2022-2023 school year

In Houston Independent School District, children dream BIG. Teachers have heart and passion like no one else. Every campus has a specialist who can help with food, clothing, housing support, and so much more. And there is a learning option as unique as each child.

Achieving that level of student success takes an entire campus; it takes YOU! HISD is now hiring teachers, counselors, nurses, librarians, assistant principals, support staff, and all other roles for the 2022-2023 school year.

With 276 schools, 191,000 students, 27,000+ employees, and 100+ languages spoken, HISD is the largest, most diverse, K-12 school district in Texas. HISD offers:

  • Competitive compensation: HISD is a regional leader in competitive salaries and wages, with teachers starting at $61,500.
  • Opportunities for growth: Employees have access to world-class professional development, with the opportunity to join multiple career pathways, specialized programs, and leadership cohorts.
  • A high-impact environment: Team HISD members support the development of Houston’s future leaders. Houston ISD is “Houston’s ISD,” and team members are well-positioned to make the largest impact on the city.
  • And so much more!

A sign-on incentive of $2,000 is being offered through August to teachers new to the district. Teachers in critical shortage areas will receive a stipend up to $5,000. Teachers at HISD RISE schools will receive up to an extra $10,000. Incentives for counselors and nurses between $2,000 and $3,000 will be available. And the first 120 CDL drivers hired between June 1 and August 22 will receive a $2,000 sign-on incentive.
