HISD updates its ‘Ready, Set, Go’ protocols for the 2021-2022 school year

As HISD continues to monitor district safety protocols, HISD has made some updates to the ‘Ready, Set, Go’ plan. In consultation with medical experts, education professionals, and district administration, the updates made are to ensure that in-person learning and working continue to be as safe as possible during the 2021-2022 school year.

Mentorship program ROSES celebrates start of a new year

Students from HISD mentoring program Resilient Outstanding Sisters Exemplifying Success (ROSES) were celebrated during  the second-annual ROSES kick-off event, “ Blooming Stronger,” on Wednesday, Sept. 29. Students and mentors  joined virtually from their HISD campuses to learn how the ROSES mentorship program can help them ”bloom stronger” in the face of challenges.

HISD to be closed Sept. 6 for Labor Day

All HISD campuses and offices will be closed Monday, Sept. 6 for the Labor Day holiday. Schools and offices will reopen for normal business on Tuesday, Sept. 7. The HISD Police Department will be patrolling district facilities. Emergencies may be reported by calling 713-892-7777.
