HISD finalizes components of the T-TESS design

HISD is releasing more information on the design of T-TESS in preparation for the initial roll out for School Year 2022-2023. The decisions outlined below aim to place teacher growth at the center of the evaluation process, and they have been made in close collaboration with teachers, principals, and staff across Houston, with insight from an HISD staff survey, three focus groups, and numerous design committees.

Student Enrollment Department to host a family enrollment drive

In preparation for the 2022-2023 school year, the Houston Independent School District Student Enrollment Department will be hosting a Student Enrollment Application and Resources Drive. Families are invited to attend this event from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday, May 21, at Sam Houston Math, Science, and Technology Center (MSTC) High School.

Elementary and middle school students celebrate Reduce, Reuse, Recycle Contest wins

In observation of Earth Month, HISD’s Energy and Sustainability Department held a contest intended to inspire creativity and environmental awareness by repurposing recyclable materials into art pieces. The department’s hope was that the contest would excite students and encourage a more active engagement with the environment and conservation both at school and at home.
